Eileen Pollack, the author/scientist behind this book, “The Only Woman in the Room: Why science is still a boys’ club”, joins us from the University of Michigan to talk about the challenges facing women who choose STEM fields. Pollack’s talk will be followed by a panel discussion among distinguished WSU faculty members. This event is open to the community. Pollack will give a literary reading the following evening, Wednesday, October 19^th at 5pm at the Museum of Art as part of the Department of English’s Visiting Writer Series.
