Sue will share her career journey from discovering Engineering as a student, living and working in four countries, for multiple companies, on multiple airplane program, and lessons learned along the way.

BIOGRAPHY
Sue Paish is the Director of Structures for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Engineering. She is responsible for strengthening the mechanical and structural engineering capabilities, implementing new strategies, and overseeing engineering functional excellence across all programs in BDS. Sue also leads the BDS Engineering Design Centers in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Washington and the southern U.S. (Alabama, Florida, and Texas).

Previously, Sue was the Chief Engineer for Boeing Global Services where she was responsible for the technical excellence of the Engineer and Technologist workforce as well as the technical integrity and safety of Boeing Global Services’ products and services. Sue also oversaw compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements of Boeing and acted as the primary technical interface with the Federal Aviation Administration.

Prior to this role, Sue served as the Chief Project Engineer for all heritage Boeing and McDonnell Douglas out-of-production commercial airplanes and was responsible for their safety and product integrity. She has also held a variety of other Engineering leadership positions in Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) including the Director of Engineering for BCA Southern California, BCA Structures Engineering Design Chief, the 787 program and product development. Sue has worked at all three BCA Engineering Design Centers in Washington, South Carolina, and California.

Before joining Boeing in 2004, Sue was a design engineer supporting airplane programs for Dornier, Bombardier, and a Rolls-Royce subsidiary. Sue graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
