The distinguished keynote speaker of WSU’s Inaugural Week of Women in STEM was Gerri Martin-Flickinger, the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Starbucks. Under her leadership, Starbucks Technology is focused on delivering innovative, cloud-based and digital solutions that empower partners and delight customers globally. Prior to Starbucks, Gerri served as Chief Information Officer at Adobe, VeriSign, Network Associates, Inc. and McAfee Associates, Inc. A ’85 graduate of WSU with a B.S. in Computer Science, Gerri will discuss how she overcame challenges in her career and give advice to those interested in pursuing a career in STEM.

This 2018 Week of Women in STEM panel features professional women working in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields, who discuss how to get started in the field and provide tips on work-life balance. The session was moderated by WSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Professor and WSU’s First Lady, Dr. Noel Schulz.
